Since its establishment in 2020, Hawassa University's Career Development Center has been dedicated to preparing students for career success. Initially offering limited services, the Center has significantly expanded its scope to provide comprehensive support across various areas crucial for career readiness. These key services include Employability Skills and Job Readiness Training, equipping students with the essential skills demanded by the modern job market; Specialized Training, providing targeted expertise in various fields; Soft Skills Development, focusing on enhancing communication, teamwork, and other vital interpersonal skills; and Career Guidance, offering personalized advice and support for effective career planning.

Furthermore, the Center facilitates Career and Job Fairs, actively connecting students with potential employers and creating valuable networking opportunities. These initiatives have positively impacted thousands of students, with over 8,800 receiving direct services from the Center. In addition to student support, the Center is committed to faculty development, with over 366 staff members benefiting from tailored training programs designed to enhance teaching and learning methodologies.

As a direct result of the Center's job fairs and other comprehensive programs, students have successfully networked with industry professionals, secured valuable internships, and gained meaningful employment opportunities.
