The Postgraduate Directorate (PGD) has the following key duties and responsibilities:
- Formulates strategic plans and provides recommendations to develop, strengthen, and expand graduate programs—including interdisciplinary initiatives—based on institutional goals and national needs.
- Prepares annual plan of the directorate and its performance reports and submit that to the Office of Vice President for Academic Affairs and other concerned offices;
- Ensures the effective implementation of Senate and university policies governing graduate program administration, student welfare, and academic standards.
- Supervises and monitors the management of graduate programs across all academic units. Coordinates with deans, the Registrar, and the VPAA on critical matters such as program intake capacity, advisor assignments, and course offerings.
- Oversees and issues directives for key administrative processes (registration, record-keeping), and ensures the timely resolution of student complaints in accordance with university legislation.
- Facilitates internal and external support for the programs and research, communicates important dates publicly, and submits comprehensive annual reports to VPAA.
- Performs any other duties as assigned by the Academic Vice President (VPAA).
