Overview
The General Service Executive provides overall leadership, coordination, and oversight of the university’s general service operations, ensuring efficient, reliable, and high-quality support services across all campuses. The role ensures that essential administrative services—such as facilities support, cleaning, utilities management, office services, and supplies operate smoothly to enable academic, research, and administrative units to function effectively.
Through efficient management and continuous improvement of general services, the Executive plays a vital role in creating a functional, safe, and conducive environment for teaching, research, and community engagement.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Lead, plan, and manage all general service functions including office services, cleaning, landscaping, and utilities support,
- Develop and implement policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures for efficient general service delivery.
- Ensure clean, safe, well-maintained work and learning environments across campuses.
- Manage utilities-related services (water, electricity, waste management), ensuring efficiency and timely issue resolution.
- Oversee procurement of general service supplies and ensure effective distribution, usage tracking, and accountability.
- Supervise general service teams including cleaners, property officers, office assistants, and related staff.
- Maintain service quality through regular inspections, performance monitoring, and process improvement initiatives.
- Prepare periodic operational reports for university leadership.
